TAKING A BREAK

2.19.2014

Hey babes, I will be taking a break for a few months. Right now nothing is as important as taking care of my family. You can follow my Instagram and Facebook for updates. I Apologize if I brought your day down with this video. See you later.

  1. Hi Delmy, I'm a first time poster. I just wanted to say that I helped my mom deal with her cancer battle for the last year. Luckily. She is doing well now but it's a hard journey for everyone involved. Stay strong, as you said you have a lot riding on your shoulders but you can do it. Don't forget to take a teensy bit of time for yourself once in a while to let the stress out even if it's an extra 2 minutes in the shower to just cry it out by yourself. It's ok to feel overwhelmed, you're human. The best advice I got is that you can't control everything so ask tons of questions but know that you're doing your very best at all times. I wish you, your family and especially your mom the beat of luck. My prayers are with you all.

  7. Delmy, I don't know what your faith is or if you believe in a higher power but I believe your faith and love will get you through this. The only thing we can do is pray for strength daily and take it one day at a time. Nobody is expecting you to be superwoman. I know that you have a lot on your plate but I hope you find the bearings to take care of yourself as well. Prayers, love, hugs and blessings to you and your family.

  14. Its ok sweetheart. We will be here when you get back. I know its hard and you are hurting. Remember to trust GOD and don't lean on your own understanding. Read Psalm 91 and Psalm 23 for strength. Prayer changes things. I will check up on you on Instagram. I am so sorry you are carrying such a big burden, but GOD will never leave you or forsake you. Trust him no matter what things look like.

  15. Dear Delmy,

The Lord is your strength. I cannot imagine what you are going through but I want to reassure you that God is faithful, loving, and he doesn't give us burdens we can not bare. This is just a season and I know he will see you through. Your mom will be well. Just have positive thoughts and speak positive words of healing to her. After all, our words hold power and just having faith as little as a mustard seed brings healing.

  19. I am so sorry to hear about your mom. You are a strong woman but don't think that you have to carry everything alone. That is mistake that too many people make. Reach out to your trusted friends and family and whether it be them watching little man for a bit just so you can take a walk in the park do it!
You are an amazing woman and I hope nothing but good things for you and your family.

  20. Father in Jesus name I pray the peace of GOD that passes all understanding will keep their hearts and minds. I pray your Sovereign Hand will cover their lives to both govern and heal. I pray that you touch her mother in the deepest parts of her soul and bring strength and encouragement. I pray that Your JOY will flood their lives. I pray that the dark cloud that is hovering trying to bring discouragement and DIS-EASE disease to the family is BROKEN!!! I come against the spirit of depression and I release the oil of your anointing and sweet presence into their lives. I thank you that the floods and the winds of this storm will not cause the house to fall down, but they will stand on the ROCK of your salvation. I break the power of the enemy that seeks to kill, steal and to destroy, and I release your abundant life right now in Jesus name!!!!!!!
AMEN! SO BE IT! GOD BLESS YOU DELMY

Delmy my name is LaToya and I follow your blog but this is the first time that I have ever commented. First off I will continue to lift you and your family up and prayer because I know that this is a difficult situation because I have been through it with my mother. My mother was diagnosed back in 2009 with cancer. All I have to say that God brought us all through and he will bring you guys through as well. He will give you strength when you don't even think you have any left and the will to keep moving foward when you just want to throw in the towel. Keep your head up and lean on God because he will never ever let you fall. Again my prayers are with you and your family...smile because you guys are going to be alright you have to believe and know that.

    Much love,

  38. Delmy, I have been following your blog for a while and I've noted the immense love you have for your family, through your posts. I was so touched by this video because you spoke from the heart and let us all in during this difficult time.

We serve such an awesome God, and His plan is always the right one. I will pray for strength for you, healing for your mom, and His loving comfort for your family.

There are many awesome prayers that I read here and on your Instagram page, and I am 1000% in agreement with all of them. "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them" Matthew 18:20. We all stand behind you, beside you, and with you!

  66. Dear Delmy,

I've been visiting your blog for years, although I check out fashion blogs infrequently and hadn't been here for a while, this remains one of my favourite ones. It's fresh, light-hearted, original and real.

But wow - you've been through a hell of a lot in the last little while, and I just felt compelled to write and say that I'm really glad you came back to blog, and that you've resurfaced and trying to find beauty when and where you can still. Posting that video was really courageous and is a reminding to all that, while fashion and style is fun and meant to be lighthearted, life happens regardless and sometimes we need to keep it real.

I'll be hoping and praying for you and your mom. I've got through my own challenges with my family's health, so I can imagine what you are going through... My only advice, if I may, is to keep taking it day by day, and don't be afraid to ask for support. And to focus on stuff that you enjoy and love - like fashion - because it helps with the burdens that we deal with sometimes.

    Take care,
    Camille
